OFC U16 Futebol Arte at Ontario Cup
OFC Futebol Arte U15/U16 team participated in the Ontario Futsal Cup this past weekend March 16/17. They ended up placed in the ‘group of death’ going 1-2 losing very close matches to the eventual champions and finalist, both highly nationally ranked OPDL teams.
In the first match Futsal Arte played Markham City FC and won 6 to 0.
The next two games were against the eventual gold and silver medalist. Both teams are the highly ranked Vaughan OPDL 2008 and 2009.
Futsal Arte lost 5-3 vs the Vaughn 2008 and then lost 6-3 to the Vaughan 2009 boys.
It was a very good showing for the mostly U15 boys facing older and much more physically developed players. The eventual Vaugh 2008 champions had their closest match of the entire competition (6-3) against Futebol Arte. It was the luck of the draw, but a very good experience and showing nonetheless.
In the final Vaughan OPDL 2008 Boys won 10-3 vs Vaughan OPDL 2009 Boys.
